There are no words to describe how appreciative we are of the Mountain Dog family. Winnie has been going to Mountain Dog for 2.5 years, she started out with daycare and training. Katie and Alissa are amazing trainers. Now they are training 6 month old Willow, which she is a little stubborn, however, she has come a long wat. Besides daycare and and training, the girls as well as Gus and Major go for grooming. The groomers are absolutely wonderful. We also use Mountain Dog for boarding. The entire team at Mountain Dog go out of their way to help us in anyway they can. Winnie and Willow love every day they are there. Phillip and I are so grateful to have such an awesome place to take all of our dogs for great care.

I remember 2008 like it was yesterday, that was the year Mt Dog opened. Shortly after opening Alissa outgrew two different locations. I’m very proud of Alissa for shooting for the stars and building her current facility from the ground up. My firewood crew and I helped Sammy and Alissa in a very small way get Mt Dog up and running. We leveled gravel, installed a wood fired boiler and assembled Aluminum dog kennels. Very expensive, top of the line kennels I might add. I have never installed kennels, but we would do anything to help Alissa! From day one Mt Dog has been exceptional. The staff is always friendly, even when I bring 4 or 5 dogs charging through the door for a spa day! Alissa only knows perfection paired with patience. That’s why the Crawford family and the goldens who live and work at the Cashiers Farmers Market will always call Mt. Dog home for all of our doggie needs.

To my friends at Mountain Dog Spa,

I rescued a hound named Doc in Cashiers. I had dropped by rescue to make a donation, and while leaving with this little puppy—who is now eighty pounds—the lady said to me, “You may want to visit Mountain Dog Spa if you need help with Doc.”

So after about a week, I did need help. I walked in the door at Mountain Dog carrying Doc and saw Katie, and I knew she thought, “old lady with puppy needs help.”

Doc loves Mountain Dog, and he is well trained and loves other dogs. He is very sociable. I would always tell Katie what was going on with Doc so my husband and I could manage him.

We would not have been able to keep Doc if it wasn’t for Mountain Dog, and that would have broken my heart.

We walk him every day, and he makes our home more lovable. Thank you, Katie, for always listening and loving Doc, and Mountain Dog + staff for being there.

We couldn’t be happier with Mountain Dog Spa. The love, care, and attention from the staff truly means everything to us. We are so grateful to Alissa for rescuing and rehabilitating, then adopting the most sweetest Bull Terrier Patsy Peach to us. She is an angel of a dog. She changed our lives. The training they provide is unbelievable (they even managed to get a Bull Terrier to “place”!). Grooming is always excellent, and the daycare and boarding are absolutely top notch. Being able to drop off your dog, and know she is getting the best care, is priceless! They make everything fun and rewarding for the dogs while taking special care to keep us owners updated and included every step of the way. We trust them completely and couldn’t recommend them more. How lucky are we to have Mtn Dog Spa in Cashiers.

Moving to the Cashiers area with a 7-month-old deaf German Sheperd was overwhelming – training felt impossible and I almost gave up. Meeting Alissa at Mt Dog changed our lives. Her expertise, patience, and genuine compassion gave me hope and the tools I needed. Golda progressed quickly and became manageable, and the ongoing training and support from the Mt Dog staff have made those gains stick. I can’t recommend them highly enough. She is my ‘gentle giant on the mountain.’
